Management and Participation in the Ceremony of Pagoda Fabric Procession of Phrathatchomthong, Muang District, Phayao Province

Abstract

This paper aimed at studying the management and participation in the ceremony of pagoda fabric procession celebration for the pagoda named Phrathatchomthing, Muang, Phayao. This ceremony has long been performed by the nearby community. When the University of Phayao has played a key role in conducting the ritual led by the triad of schools as University representatives, namely Liberal Arts, School of Education, and Political and Social Sciences, first in 2016. This ritual became known widely and was passed down till date. The triad extended their networks covering Phayao governing bureaus, such as the City Hall, Muang municipality, cultural office, Buddhist affairs office, and the nearby community. It was seen that the tradition is in line with the  management according to the 4Ms theory and the participation of 4 steps from participations in decision making,  implementation, getting benefits, and evaluation.
