Abstract

The Ban Non Wat Prehistoric Archaeological Site is the oldest site in Nakhon Ratchasima and one of the most important sites in Thailand as it is the location of the first Agricultural society in Thailand, which dates from the Neolithic Age, through the Bronze Age and Metal Age to the Early Historic Period. These significant excavations found six hundred and thirty five burials, twenty thousand artefacts and four thousand completed vessels found in the site.

The main purpose of the research is to develop an educational toolkit to assist with learning about the Ban Non Wat Prehistoric Archaeological Site by applying archaeological resources, the school curriculum and the museum toolkit simultaneously. The target group are local students in Prathom 4 – 6. This educational toolkit aims to create an easily applied understanding of the site to stimulate the learning and awareness of their land.

In the research process, I studied both documents and field resources from the archaeological dig, the museums and the school curriculum and applied them in order to create an Educational Toolkit which included a Teacher’s Resource, an Activity Booklet, Worksheets, Fun Handouts, Board Games, Touch and Learn Hands-on and Craft Activities. This education toolkit can be used in both the Ban Non Wat Archaeological site and the Ban Non Wat Museum. It can support the museum content and create a deeper understanding of the site.
