บทคัดย่อ
วัตถุประสงค์ของบทความชิ้นนี้คือ ประการแรก ยุทธศาสตร์อินโด-แปซิฟิกภายใต้ทรัมป์และไบเดนนั้นเป็นความต่อเนื่องในนโยบายต่างประเทศของสหรัฐฯ ต่อภูมิภาคดังกล่าว ทั้งในแง่ของการทวงคืนความเป็นผู้นำในภูมิภาค และในแง่ของการสกัดกั้นการขยายอำนาจและบทบาทของจีนในช่วงที่สหรัฐฯลดบทบาทของตนเองในภูมิภาคนี้ไปตั้งแต่การสิ้นสุดของสงครามเย็นเป็นต้นมา ประการที่สอง เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่า ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนโยบายหวนคืนสู่เอเชีย-แปซิฟิกของโอบามาหรือยุทธศาสตร์อินโด-แปซิฟิกของทรัมป์และไบเดน ภายใต้พรรครีพับลิกันหรือพรรคเดโมแครต สาระสำคัญของยุทธศาสตร์ดังกล่าวก็คือเป็นนโยบายที่สนองตอบต่อผลประโยชน์แห่งชาติของสหรัฐฯ ในทางเศรษฐกิจและทางความมั่นคงของสหรัฐฯ ทั้งสิ้น และประการที่สาม เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างของยุทธศาสตร์อินโด-แปซิฟิกโดยเฉพาะนโยบายด้านเศรษฐกิจและผลกระทบ หรือมรดกที่เป็นรูปธรรมของประธานาธิบดี โอบามา ประธานาธิบดี ทรัมป์ และ ประธานาธิบดีไบเดน ที่มีต่อความมั่งคั่งและความมั่นคงของประชาชนอเมริกัน
