Guidelines for Self-Development of SMEs Entrepreneurs to the New Normal

Abstract

Intense competition in business makes entrepreneurs need to develop themselves all the time, coupled with the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), entrepreneurs need to adapt to the new normal. Therefore, this research aims to study personal factors, entrepreneurship factors, and transformational leadership affecting the guidelines for self-development of SMEs entrepreneurs to the new normal. The sample comprised some 321 SMEs entrepreneurs in Songkhla province. The research instrument was a questionnaire, which was then analyzed according to maximum, minimum, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that personal factors, entrepreneurship factors, and transformational leadership that most affecting the guidelines for self-development of SMEs entrepreneurs to the new normal at the .05 significance level including, sorted from high to low, transformational leadership in intellectual stimulation aspect, number of years of education, entrepreneurial experience, work experience, and age. Altogether, the factors considered explain 48.1% of the variance in the guidelines for self-development of SMEs entrepreneurs to the new normal.
