The Model for the 21st Century School Administrator’s Leadership Model Development in Large Size School and Extra-Large Size School Under The Secondary Education Service Area Office Chonburi - Rayong

Abstract

The purpose of this research were 1) to study leadership in the 21st century, 2) to develop a leadership model for the 21st century, and 3) to verify the developed model on school administrator leadership in large-size and extra-large size schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office Chonburi - Rayong. The research findings revealed that 1) the 21st-century leadership of school administrators consisted of 5 elements: (1) Visionary leadership, including the ability to develop vision, communicate vision, and inspire others; (2) Effective communication leadership, involving active listening, presentation, and the use of technology; (3) Participative leadership, consisting of trust, participation, and agility; (4) Decisive leadership, consisting of identifying the problem, analyzing the alternatives, and making a decision; and (5) Transformational leadership, consisting of creating change, trusting in others, and using value as a driving force. The model was developed using data collected from school teachers in Chonburi – Rayong's Secondary Education Service Area Office. 2) The model developed using the EDFR research technique was found to have a median of 4.96 and an interquartile range of .59. 3) Examining 21st Century Leadership Development Models for School Administrators through a group discussion of experts who determined that they were appropriate, practicable, and be able to be implemented.
