The Trend of Learning Management Physical Education of High Schools in Krabi Province

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the trend of learning management in physical education in high schools in Krabi. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the quantitative phase involved a sample of 478 high school students, physical education teachers, and school administrators in the academic year 2023. Data was collected using questionnaires. For the qualitative phase, in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 participants. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis. The quantitative results revealed that the perceived trends in physical education instruction in high schools in Krabi Province were at the highest level in all aspects, ranked as follows: physical education teachers, students, assessment, curriculum, facilities and resources, and administrators and management. Qualitative analysis further supported these findings, identifying specific trends as follows: (1) The curriculum: promotes morality, ethics, and discipline among students; (2) Administrators and administration: motivates physical education teachers for learning management in various ways; (3) Physical education teachers: possess positive personalities and dress appropriately for teaching; (4) Learners: engaged and enthusiastic, actively participating in activities; (5) Buildings and facilities: have both indoor and outdoor sports facilities suitable for physical education; and (6) Measurement and evaluation: are accurate and appropriate.
