A Study of Local Learning Centers by the Participation of the Community in Thahai KhueangNai Ubon Ratchathani

Abstract
The research’s objectives were to study the community participation in forming Thahai learning center and to study factors that affect setting up the local learning center by community participation of Thahai community in KhueangNai district in Ubon Ratchathani province. Samples were divided into 2 groups; 1) community researchers which were village headmen, community experts, parents, and teenagers, and 2) molding traders; Kon Thai Wannee Learning Center and Huay Wang Nong Learning Center in Ubon Ratchathani province. These samples were selected by purposive sampling method. Research instruments were an in-depth interview form and group discussion. The research found that the community participation in forming Thahai learning center should have 1) the learning center’s curriculum of molding wisdom, 2) community experts who construct the local wisdom knowledge, 3) efficient tools to facilitate the molding process, 4) the community participate in the management. The factors that affected setting up the local learning center were 1) stakeholders, 2) tools and buildings, 3) products and activities that provide income to the learning center, 4) policy and participation of public sectors that will provide durability to the learning center and budget to set up and manage the learning center.
