A Development of the Training Curriculum of English for Communication for the Basic School Administrators under the Office of Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Areas

Abstract

The purposes of this research were : 1) to develop the training curriculum of English for communication for the basic school administrators under the Office of Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Areas  and 2) to find the efficiency of the training curriculum of English for communication for the basic school administrators. The sample  were 30 school administrators under the office of Ubon Ratchathani primary educational service areas. It has been evaluated by the performance testing based on the efficiency 80/80 criteria by using E1 / E2 formula which represents the efficiency of process / efficiency of product. The data were analyzed using percentage, means, standard deviation and t-test. The results of the study showed that a survey of requirement and needs of 285 school administrators for improving their English skills was respectively rated at the highest level. The training curriculum of English for communication for the basic school administrators consisted of 7 aspects, including the rationale, the objectives, the contents, the time, the activities, the instructional media and the evaluation. The level of the appreciateness of the training curriculum was rated at the highest level. The results of the study revealed that evaluating  the training curriculum of English for communication for the basic school administrators effective E1/E2 was 81.11/82.67 which were higher than 80 percent of defined criteria. The means of the posttest was significantly higher than that of the pretest as significantly different at 0.05. The trainees’ satisfaction of the training curriculum was at the highest level.
