The Process of Development of Watsaengkaewphothiyan, chediluang Sub-District, Mae Sruai District, Chiang Rai Province.

Abstract

            The objectives of this independent study were 1) to study development of Watsaengkaewphothiyan, Chediluang Sub-District, mae Sruai District, Chiang Rai Province, and 2) to study the problems and obstacles in development of Watsaengkaewphothiyan, Chediluang Sub-District, Mae Sruai District, Chiang Rai Province.  The populations in the study were 20 people consisting of the Abbot of Watsaengkaewphothiyan, the chief executive of the Chediluang Sub-District Administration Organization, the Sub-District Headman, the President of Elderly Club, Senior citizens of Chediluang Community, the village Headman of 11th Ban Maiseangkaew, and Watsaengkaewphothiyan Development Committees. The instrument used in the research was interview forms.

The results of the study were found that:

            The development of Watsaengkaewphothiyan, Chediluang Sub-District, Mae Sruai district, Chiang Rai Province, in term of participation, it is found that the Abbot, staffs of the temple, community leaders and people in Chediluang Sub-District are involved in the temple environmental changing. They all together supply the budget for repairing and restoring the damaged parts of temple. In term of propagation of Buddhism, it is found that monks and novices have been responsible for study and practice the observances. There are many activities in the temple in order to preach the Buddhist teachings to people.

            The problems and obstacles of the temple development is the structural lacking of systematically financial management. So the process of developing related personnel, such as the monks, the temple committee, the warden, as well as the communities closed to the temple, is in need in order to let them understand and know how to manage financial efficiently. Constructing budget is also not enough.
