Academic Achievement in Political Theories and Ethics of 2nd Year Students Using Yonisomanasikara Learning Activities

Abstract

 This research on academic achievement development for learning Political Theories and Ethics Subject of 2^nd year students by providing Yonisomanasikara Learning Activities had an objectives to develop lesson plans of Political Theories and Ethics Subject for 2^nd year students using Yonisomanasikara Learning Activities to study effectiveness index of the lesson plans and compare pre- and post academic achievements affected by the learning activities of 2^nd year students.  The sample group obtained by purposive sampling consisted of 15 2^nd year students, one whole class (regular semester), academic year 2016, Administrative Politics major, Faculty of Social Science, Mahamakutrajvittayalai University, Mahavajiralongkarana Rajavittayalai campus.  Research tools composed of Yonisomanasikara lesson plans for 9 weeks, 3 hours per week totaling 27 hours, and 4-choice academic achievement test with 30 items, (p) value between 0.521 to 0.782, (r) value between 0.321 to 0.683, reliability by Cronbach’ Alpha Coefficient at 0.92.  The statistics used consisted of mean, percentage, standard deviation, and hypothesis test with paired t-test. Outcome of the research appeared that: (1) The Yonisomanasikara Learning Activities for 2^nd year students obtained effectiveness at 81.75/83.11, in accordance with the criterion provided. (2) The effectiveness index of the lesson plans on Yonisomanasikara Leaning
Activities for 2^nd year students was 0.6833, indicating the students had academic advance accounted for 68.33%. (3) The sample group 2^nd year students learning through Yonisomanasikara Learning Activities had an average post-test score higher than their pre-test score at statistical significance of .01.
