OPINIOS OF ADMINISTRATORS AND TEACHERS TOWARDS THE FOURTH ROUND OF EXTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE IN PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN

Abstract

The objective of this study was to study opinions of administrators and teachers towards the fourth round of external quality assurance processes who had been evaluated by the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) in 6 schools. The questionnaire for administrators and teachers was divided into 8 aspects which consisted of before school visit, during school visit, after school visit, the relation between internal quality assessment and external quality assessment, criteria for assessing quality, the criteria for assessing outstandingness, the use of information technology systems of the ONESQA, and ethics of external assessors. The sample consisted of 120 administrators and teachers by purposive sampling. Statistical analysis was conducted by percentage, mean and standard deviation.

 

The results found that opinions of administrators and teachers towards the fourth round of external quality assurance process in private kindergartens under the Samut Prakan Provincial Education Office were ranked at highest level in 7 aspects as follow: ethics of external assessors, criteria for assessing quality, the relation between internal quality assessment and external quality assessment, during school visit, before school visit, the use of information technology systems of the ONESQA, and the criteria for assessing outstandingness. As for an opinion ranked at high level, there was only one aspect which was after school visit.
