Development of English Reading Skills Exercises Through Task-based Approach and STAD Technique for the Secondary School year 4

Abstract

The research objectives were to 1) Study of problems for organizing activities for teaching English, 2) ฺBuild and evaluate of English Reading Skills Exercises Through Task-based Approach and STAD Technique for the Secondary school year 4 to meet a criterion of 80/80, 3) Comparison of English reading ability of the Secondary school year 4, 4) Study the students' satisfaction with using the English Reading Comprehension Skills Exercise. together with collaborative learning management with STAD technique. The samples consisted of 32 Mathayomsuksa 4 students at Second semester, academic year 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali School, Purposive Sampling. The research instruments were interview form, English reading skill practice form. English reading ability test learning management plan satisfaction questionnaire The statistics used to analyze the data were mean, percentage, and standard deviation.

           The results as follow; 1) Students cannot read English properly. Lack of comprehension from reading English Can't remember permanent words, 2) English Reading Skills Exercises Through Task-based Approach and STAD Technique for the Secondary school year 4 Efficient 80.64/80.17 (higher than the specified criterion as 80/80), 3) English reading ability scores from the test after school were significantly higher than before at the .05 level and 4) The students were satisfied with teaching activities at the highest level.
