Need Assessment and Guidelines for Developing Teachers Lifelong Learning Skill under Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

 This research article aims to (1) conduct a study on teachers lifelong learning skills , and (2) provide guidelines for improving teachers lifelong learning skills under Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. There are two steps of the research. Step 1; To study need assessment of the teachers lifelong learning skill affairs from 295 teachers from 1,213 selected by using a stratified random sampling method based on cluster size as determined by Krejcie and Morgan's table. The research tools used in this study were a questionnaire  with a rating scale. Data were analyzed by using means, standard deviation (S.D.) and prioritization of essential needs (PNI_Modified). Step 2; To study the guidelines to develop the teachers lifelong learning skill semi-structured interviews were conducted with four experts. Data were analyzed by using content analysis. The results of the research revealed that;

1) The results of the study of the index for the need assessment of the teachers on lifelong learning skill under  Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 in general was 0.64. Communication skill had the most priority needs index at 0.81 ,Applied – Knowledge skill had priority needs index at 0.77 and Appropriate Use of Technology skill had priority needs index at 0.75

2)The results of the study of guidelines for developing teachers lifelong learning under Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 1It was found that the educational service area and schools should provide practical training workshops for teachers to enhance their knowledge. School administrators should regularly facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) within schools and across school networks. Teachers should be encouraged to apply innovative approaches in their teaching practices, and efforts should be made to raise their awareness of cultural diversity.
