Abstract

            The objectives of this research were: 1) to investigate the use of Buddhist philosophy in the operation of the people training unit in Mueang district, Lamphun province's zone 3 of Makhueachae sub-district, 2) to examine concerns of applying Buddhist philosophy to operations in zone 3 of Makhueachae sub-district, Mueang district, Lamphun province, and 3) to offer a guideline for the development of Buddhist philosophy application to operations. The qualitative study included document analysis, sample interviews (target groups), and non-participatory observation with representative groups presenting important data.

          As a consequence of the research, it was discovered that: 1) There were eight components of Buddhist philosophy that were directly related to the performance of social work in the operation of the people training unit in Mueang district, Lamphun province's zone 3 of Makhueachae sub-district. It was to bring peace to society, to strengthen affection and unity, and to assist one another. It enabled people to follow the principles of advancement in society, such as the application of the 4 Saṅahavatthus idea to unite people by binding their hearts and harmonizing them. 2) Concerns about applying Buddhist philosophy to operations in zone 3 of Makhueachae sub-district, Mueang district, Lamphun province revealed that people are now uninterested in the Buddhist philosophy. As a result, societies began to experience a variety of issues, which moved beyond the family to the community. They would spread to society at a national level if there was no protection. The most important thing was to cultivate and embed Buddhist philosophy in the minds of the youth. 3) The guideline for the application of Buddhist philosophy to operations. It was for the future benefit of society to put these eight Buddhist teachings into reality, tailored to individual circumstances, period, place, context, and community lifestyle. In addition, in order to attain improved public order and well-being in society, techniques, methods, and technology should be searched for positive application and used in each department or institution using Buddhist ways.
