Teaching and Learning Chinese to Improve Thai Students' Speed Reading Skills

Abstract

A language is an important tool that human communicates with each other. It is also used as a learning tool and develops human intelligence. Human uses language to transfer culture and the way of life to others. Learning Chinese as a second language should develop four skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. For the survey on teaching Chinese as a second language, Thai students lack of speed reading skill which affected on their learning potential. This article identified and developed the technique to teach the students becoming the effective readers. It presented the meaning of speed reading, technique in speed reading, and factors which affected on the development of reading in Chinese language as well. With this research, teachers have retained the teaching techniques to develop Thai student becoming effective speed reading. All teachers realized ideas and methods to improve the teaching in classes. It could develop and elevate students’ reading skill.
