Tourist’s Perceived Risk: A Case Study in Tourism Logistics from Ubon Ratchathani to Pakse

Abstract

The purpose of this research paper was to study tourist’s perceived risk on the route between Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand to Pakse, Champasak-Lao PDR. The research began with studying the tourism logistics and patterns of vehicles and feasible routes. Then, the questionnaire was developed and validated to collect tourist’s perceived risk from 100 respondents obtained from cluster sampling. The results showed that the routes number 13, taxi-Chong Mek van-Wang Tao van, number 14, taxi-Phibun van-Chong Mek van-Wang Tao van, number 43, taxi-Chong Mek van-Wang Tao van, and number 44, taxi-Ubon/Phibun van-Chong Mek van-Wang Tao van, were of the lowest risk at the average of 2.71. The routes number 1, international buses and minibuses, and number 7, minibus-Ubon/Phibun bus-Chong Mek minibus-Wang Tao van, were the routes with the highest risk of 3.15 at which both averages are considered the moderate risk level.
