Quality of life of military discharged soldiers: A case study of discharged soldiers living in Samko district, Angthong province

Abstract

The objectives of this research study were to study the quality of life of soldiers after being discharged from the military to compare the quality of life of the discharged soldiers based on personal factors and to suggest how to develop quality of life of the soldiers after they were discharged from the military. The population were 138 discharged soldiers residing in Samko district, Angthong province.  Statistics for data analysis adopted in this study included percentage, means, standard deviation, F-TEST, LSD paired samples and test by the statistically significant level of .05. The results of the analysis of variance by research showed that the quality of life of the soldiers after they were discharged from the military was found in the highest level. When each aspect was analyzed, it was found that social, economics and characteristics of the soldiers were found in the highest level and the satisfaction level toward the army was found in a high level; discharged soldiers with different personal factors showed no difference. and it was suggested that the army should support employment after the soldiers were discharged from the military and build a connection to exchange the information between the army and the discharged soldiers.
