The Study of Preparedness for Learning Development Towards Asean Community of School Administrators Under Angthong Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the preparedness, problems, as well as resolution of learning development towards ASEAN Community of school administrators under Angthong Primary Educational Service Area Office. The sample consisted of 110 administrators and five experts. The research instruments included a questionnaire and a structured interview. The statistical analysis was performed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The findings were as follows: Concerning the schools, the administrators had moderate preparedness for learning development towards ASEAN Community. In terms of the administration, the management was found most prepared. With respect to the learning management, the preparation of materials was found at a maximum. Regarding the internal supervision, the management preparation was found at the highest rate. Finally, in regard to the monitoring and evaluation, the personnel were maximally prepared. Besides, the problems with administrators’ preparedness for learning development towards ASEAN Community were moderately found. The most problematic aspects in terms of administration, learning management, internal supervision, and monitoring and evaluation were the preparedness of materials, management, finance, and management respectively. The resolution of the problems could be done in four primary ways. Namely, the learning centers should be established in schools so as to provide the personnel with precise understanding about the ASEAN Community. Further, an ASEAN curriculum, including relevant materials, should be designed and sufficiently provided. In addition, a budget should be allocated for supporting continuous supervision, which should also be performed in various methods. Finally, a reliable indicator for evaluation should be made, as well as closely applied along with the monitoring.
