The denial of the metaphysics and disbelief in the absolute truth: the attitude of postmodernism in Prabda Yoon’s literary works

Abstract

The denial of the metaphysics and disbelief in the absolute truth attitude called "skepticism" is one of the important attitudes of postmodernism in Prabda Yoon’s Literary Works. His works as Thai contemporary writers has apparently revealed the postmodernism in various features, particularly the attitude towards the absolute truth and metaphysics. Furthermore, the literary works of Prabda Yoon also revealed modern society in various features, for instance, the plentifulness and hybrid culture, merchandise and consumption that is regarded as the hyperreality society which is formed in simulation until we cannot distincly determine what the reality is. Moreover, as men are in the the state of loss of their faith in ideals and loss of their selves because they are encircled by merchandise and symbolic consumption, and so on.
