Comparison of working persistence between the children who received and did not receive the picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working of Marie Anusorn School, Buriram province

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research had the objectives including 1. to compare the persistence of working behavior among the children who received (experimental group) and did not receive (control group) the picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working, and 2. to compare the persistence of working behavior of children who received the picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working, before and after the experiment.  The samples consisted of 30 children who were the third year kindergarten students in academic year 2017 of  Marie Anusorn  School, Buriram province with low persistence of working behavior that were randomly assigned into two groups of 15 children as experimental and control groups. The instruments included 1. ten volumes of picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working that were illustrated and edited by the researcher, and 2. the form for observing the working persistence. Both instruments were tested before implementing the experiment. Each experiment was conducted within 20 minutes for ten times. The statistical analysis included the independent t-test for comparing the persistence of working behavior between the experimental group and the control group and the dependent t-test  for comparing the persistence of working behavior before and after receiving picture cartoon fables. The results showed that 1. children who received the picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working (experimental group) had more persistent behavior than those who did not receive (control group) with the statistical significance at  the level of .05; 2. after receiving the picture cartoon fables as the role model of commitment to achieve working, the children had more persistent behavior than before receiving the picture cartoon fables with the statistical significance at the level of .05.
