A Study of States and Expectation of Administrators and Teachers to Public Mind of the Teaching Profession Students (five-years program)

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the current states and expectation of the administrators and teachers to the public mind of teaching profession students (five - years program) based on the school size. The samples were 352 administrators and teachers who were in Ayutthaya province by multistage random samplings, and the research tool was 5-rating scale questionnaire for examining the current states and expectation of the administrators and teachers to the public mind of teaching profession students (five - years program). The obtained data was analyzed by One way analysis of variance (One way ANOVA) and Post-hoc tests by using the Tukey’s method. The results were as follows: 1. In overall, the states of public mind of the teaching profession students were at high level ( = 3.96, S.D.=.66). When considering each aspect, it was found that the states of public mind of the teaching profession students were also at high level for all aspects. The highest was the public mind in environmental conservation (
= 4.01, S.D.=.70), followed by the responsibility (
= 3.95, S.D.=.70) and the sacrifice (
= 3.90, S.D.=.69). The expectation on public mind of the teaching profession students were at high level (
= 4.33, S.D.=.64). When considering each aspect, it was found that the administrators and teachers wanted the teaching profession students to have high levels of public mind in all aspects. In the large schools, they also wanted the teaching profession students to have high levels of public mind in all aspects, especially the public mind in environmental conservation (
= 4.36, S.D.=.67), followed by the responsibility (
= 4.43, S.D.=.68) and the sacrifice (
= 4.31, S.D.=.69). 2. The current states and expectation of the administrators and teachers on the public mind of teaching professions students (five - years program) in the aspects of their responsibility, sacrifice and environmental conservation were different based on the school size with the level of statistical significance at .01.
