Guideline Development for Promoting the Democratic Learning Activities of the Undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University: A Case Study of Public Administration Undergraduates in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Surindara Rajabhat University

Abstract

               This research had three purposes including: 1) to study the level of development for promoting democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University, 2) to compare the development for promoting democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University by considering the personal factors, and 3) to propose the guidelines for development and promotion of democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University. The sample were 240 Public Administration undergraduates in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Surindara Rajabhat University. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and the obtained data were statistically analyzed for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent-samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and, apart from that, the qualitative data were subjected to content analysis. The research findings revealed that: 1) for overall, the development for promoting  democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University was at a high level; 2) the development for promoting democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University by considering the personal factors, including gender, family’s occupation, family’s incomes/month, and parental status, were shown to be no different, but age and year of study were found to be significantly different at the statistical level of 0.05; and 3) the guidelines for development and promotion of democratic learning activities of the undergraduates in Surindara Rajabhat University were that the organization should have a variety of democratic activities, provide students the correct information, exercise the use of their rights for voting, and develop the knowledge about democracy.
