The Performance Appraisal Using Objective and Key Results: OKRs

Abstract

The performance appraisal is necessary for all sectors of the organization in the areas of marketing, selling, production, and logistics management. It is familiar with KPIs formulas. However, there are many interesting evaluation methods. One of the most frequently methods is the OKRs (Objective and Key Result) which has currently been implemented by Google. On the whole, OKRs is the setting goal of the framework that starts with targeting and determines the empirical result as an assessment tool. Meanwhile, the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) has essentially identified the successful elements in the organization. Therefore, giving priority to the method is the main goal which many organizations prefer to use and this refers to KPIs. It is able to maintain the quality level or drive success to the organization only at a certain level, while OKRs, can participate in the operator level. OKRs can result or be linked with the organization's goals, it has also fixed the weaknesses of the KPIs evaluation. Moreover, this can also create a sense of cooperation with OKRs, measures. It is one of interesting options for organizations.
