Development of Electronic Books (E-Book) for Parents to Promote Physical Skills of Children with Disabilities, Physical Movement, or Health

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop electronic books (E-Book) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health; 2) to study the results of parents' achievement using electronic books (E-Books) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health; and 3) to assess parents' satisfaction with using electronic books (E-Books) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health. The participants, with purposive sampling, were 10 parents of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health who take regularly their children to the Chanthaburi Provincial Special Education Center. The research instruments included: 1) an electronic books (E-Book) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health; 2) an achievement test for parents using electronic books (E-Book) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health; 3) a questionnaire to assess parents' satisfaction with using electronic books (E-Books) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health. The statistics was mean, percentage, standard deviation (S.D.), and t-test. The findings revealed as follows: 1) Electronic books (E-Book) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health contained learning efficiency (E1 / E2) = 84.80/86.00; 2) Parents had higher learning achievement after using electronic books than before at a statistical significance of .05; and 3) Parents' satisfaction with electronic books (E-Books) for parents to promote physical skills of children with physical disabilities, movement, or health was at the highest level.
