Abstract

This study aims to examine the aesthetic implications and artistic language of Liu Yucen’s ceramic art. Documentary research and field investigation were employed as the main research methods. The findings indicate that the aesthetic expression of Liu Yucen’s ceramic works is rooted in traditional techniques while being further enriched through precise firing control, the use of new materials, and the integration of cross-disciplinary artistic practices. These approaches have endowed famille-rose ceramic art with a renewed visual language and expressive vitality. The artistic language of Liu Yucen’s works is manifested through such elements as color, brushwork, composition, and materials. The study also offers an in-depth discussion of the developmental direction of contemporary ceramic art, creative strategies for the revitalization of traditional craftsmanship, and pathways for the integration of cultural and creative industries. The findings are of considerable significance to the development of ceramic art, as they contribute to a deeper understanding of the aesthetics of Liu Yucen’s ceramic works. Moreover, this study provides valuable references and guidance for scholars and practitioners interested in the study of Liu Yucen’s ceramic art.
