Abstract
This present academic article was to study pharmacology appearing in Tripitaka of Theravada Buddhism, exegesis and the other documents related to the knowledge of medicine taught by the Buddha. Besides, the way of using medicine and treatment in accordance with Buddha-Dhamma was classified into categories. Then, the data were analyzed and interpreted for creating academic frameworks which were useful knowledge for implementing for Thai traditional medicine. The findings revealed that Buddhist monks made use of herbs both from plants and animals, and minerals in a forest to make the medicine and treatment.
