Abstract

An attempt of this study was to develop good researcher characteristics of the third-year educational program students majoring in social studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Thepsatri Rajabhat University.  The participants were the students who enrolled in an Introduction to Social Science Research Methodology course in the first semester, 2016 academic year. The theoretical framework employed for the development was an interactive learning through action method: ILTA integrated with PAOR cycle – P (plan), A (act), O (observe) and R (reflect). The data collection was a pre-assessment test about the good researcher characteristics. Then, a post-assessment test was distributed to the participants after learning thorough the ILTA. Both pre- and post- assessment were created using a 5-point Likert scale divided into three main topics; emotions and feelings, knowledge, and decisions. The findings from pre- assessment were demonstrated in terms of mean and standard deviation and compared using paired sample t-test.  The important findings were as follows; 1. Considering from the aforementioned topics of the good researcher characteristics after using ILTA method, each topic and the overall achievement of the students were at a high level. 2. The overall students’ achievement from the post-test group had statistically significant improved than the pre-test group. These findings revealed that using ILTA method can systematically develop the good researcher characteristics in all topics
