Abstract
Buddhism and Jain Doctrine deny the teachings in Vedas concerning its ceremonial practices. The teachings in both religions refuse the beliefs in deity and sacred ceremonies, but the strong belief in the law of Karma. It is true that both Buddhism and Jain have quite similar teachings and teaching methods. They hold on to the belief that they should not encroach on the others, and they have the priest and governing systems. However, they differ in many details. By researching on the Tripitaka, the essential teachings of Jain religion were found as the following: 1. Rebirth 2. Life-faculty 3. Karma 4. The relationship of karma and Life-faculty 5. Religious Liberty
