Abstract

   This research was a survey research that aimed to 1) study the use of applications for translation skill learning and 2) study the satisfaction of the use of applications for translation skill learning of English major students, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. The sampling group of this study comprised 161 third year students selected by purposive sampling method, who enrolled Basic Translation in the 1st semester of academic year 2020. The research instrument was the questionnaire of the use and the satisfaction of the use of applications for translation skill learning. To determine the questionnaire quality, the questionnaire was analyzed for content validity by selecting items with a consistency of item objective congruence index of 0.50 or higher. The statistics employed for data analysis included frequency distribution and calculation of percentage, mean, and standard deviation.  The results of the study found that 1) the application used the most by students for their translation skill learning than any other applications was Google translate accounted for 90.1% followed by the use of Longdo Dict application accounted for 27.3%, and the application used the least by students for their translation skill learning than any other applications was the Bright application accounted for 6.8%, respectively, and 2) the overall satisfaction of the use of applications for translation skill learning of students majoring in English, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University was indicated at a high level.
