摘要
วัฒนธรรมของสังคมไทย มีรูปแบบการดำเนินชีวิตที่อิงอยู่กับคติธรรมคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนาเป็นส่วนใหญ่ มีหลักธรรมที่ส่งเสริมการพัฒนามิติด้านต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับบริบทการดำเนินชีวิตของมนุษย์อย่างยั่งยืน แม้อาจจะมีความขัดแย้งอยู่กับหลักการทางทุนนิยมที่มุ่งเน้นการส่งเสริมการผลิตให้เอื้อต่อความต้องการอุปโภคบริโภคของประชาชนให้มากที่สุด เพื่อกระตุ้นระบบเศรษฐกิจที่นำไปสู่การบ่อนทำลายทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างถาวร จริยธรรมสำหรับการเลือกคู่ครองที่เหมาะสม จริยธรรมสำหรับส่งเสริมพัฒนาสามีภรรยาให้ปฏิบัติต่อกันอย่างจริงใจ จริยธรรมสำหรับส่งเสริมพัฒนาบิดามารดาให้ปฏิบัติต่อบุตรธิดาอย่างเหมาะสม จริยธรรมสำหรับส่งเสริมพัฒนาให้บุตรธิดาปฏิบัติตอบแทนคุณบิดามารดาของตนอย่างเคารพ จริยธรรมสำหรับการส่งเสริมพัฒนาหลักการศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของบุคคลภายในครอบครัวให้มีความเจริญมั่นคง มีความเข้มแข็ง และมีเสถียรภาพ
