Aims and scope
ASEAN Journal of Education (AJE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing research and scholarly exchange in the field of education across ASEAN countries. The journal publishes high-quality and rigorously reviewed articles that contribute to educational theory, policy development, innovation, and professional practice within the region.
AJE welcomes empirical studies, theoretical papers, comparative research, and evidence-based reviews that address educational challenges, emerging trends, and regional priorities. The journal places particular emphasis on interdisciplinary and context-specific research that strengthens educational quality, equity, and sustainability in diverse ASEAN settings.

Types of articles
Research articles
A research article is a full, original study conducted by the author(s). It investigates a specific research problem or hypothesis in depth, typically involving the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. A defining feature of research articles is their systematic presentation of the methodology, results, and discussion, enabling readers to understand not only what was found but how it was discovered. Research articles contribute new knowledge that can inform subsequent studies and practical applications in related fields. Manuscripts submitted to AJE must not exceed 8,000 words, excluding references.
Review articles
A review article provides comprehensive examinations of existing research on a specific topic. They synthesize and critically evaluate selected literature, identify theoretical or empirical gaps, and offer recommendations for future research directions. Review articles submitted to AJE must not exceed 10,000 words, excluding references.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to AJE undergo a rigorous peer-review process in which at least three expert reviewers evaluate the submission through a double-blind review system. Further details regarding the review procedures are available in the ‘Peer Review Process’ section of the journal’s website.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published twice a year:
1st Issue: January–June
2nd Issue: July–December
Language
All manuscripts published in AJE must be written in clear, grammatically correct English.
Publication charges
Manuscript submission and publication in AJE are entirely free of charge. Authors are not required to pay any article processing charges (APCs).

Copyright and licensing
AJE is committed to safeguarding copyright and protecting author rights. All manuscripts accepted for publication must have their copyright assigned to Suan Dusit University. Reproduction of any published article, whether in whole or in part, requires prior written permission from Suan Dusit University. Except for errors arising during the printing process, the content of each article is the sole responsibility of its author(s).
Articles published in AJE are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which protects the rights of authors while enabling them to republish their work in other venues. Authors who wish to republish their articles must obtain permission from the journal and provide proper citation to the original publication. Additionally, authors must secure approval for the reproduction of any copyrighted materials taken from external sources.
Creative Commons public licenses offer creators and rights holders a standardized set of terms for sharing original works protected by copyright and other applicable rights. AJE accepts and adheres to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) and agrees to be bound by its terms and conditions.
Revenue sources
AJE does not charge authors any fees for manuscript submission or publication. This policy reflects Suan Dusit University’s commitment to supporting the research community by ensuring that all scholars have equitable opportunities to disseminate their work without financial barriers.
Advertising
AJE does not display paid advertisements or accept advertising revenue. The journal maintains a dedicated announcement section to share information about upcoming academic events and related news.
Direct marketing
AJE employs direct marketing strategies, such as contacting potential authors and maintaining communication with them to promote the journal. All outreach is conducted responsibly to ensure that recipients are not overwhelmed by the information provided.
History of journal
AJE was first published in 2015 under the supervision of the Research and Development Institute of Suan Dusit University. For over ten years, AJE has been publishing high-quality research and review articles in English, with the following International Standard Serial Numbers: ISSN 2465-437X (online) and ISSN 2673-0766 (print). Since 2019, AJE has transitioned to publishing exclusively online.
