A Study on Relationship Between School and Communities at Buddhism’s Charitable Schools in Roi Et Province

Abstract

                   The research served the purposes: 1) to study levels of relationship between Buddhist temple charity schools and communities in Roi Et province that the preceding schools acted as: i) change agents to communities, ii) academic sources of communities, iii) sources of promoting traditions and cultures, iv) one-stop service centers of knowledge for community occupations, 2) to compare teaching-tasked teachers’ and student guardians’ opinions as classified by statuses of duties and disparity in opening schools’ ongoing course levels. Results of findings:1) Levels of relationship between Buddhist temple charity schools and their surrounding communities in Roi Et province have been found rating at ‘high’(= 4.21, S.D. = 0.72)in the overall aspect. Given one single aspect, it emerges that levels of their opinions on relationship the former and the latter have been also found measuring at ‘high’ in every aspect. Each of them placed in descending order of means included: change agents to communities (= 4.26, S.D. = 0.68), academic sources of communities (= 4.21, S.D.= 0.73),  sources of promoting traditions and cultures (= 4.14, S.D. = 0.76), and one-stop centers of knowledge for community occupations (= 4.20, S.D. = 0.74). 2) Comparative results of informants’ opinions on relationship between the former and the latter as classified by statuses of their duties have shown stark differences in both the overall aspect and every single one, with the statistical significance level at 05. In addition, their opinions on parity in opening schools’ ongoing course level shave proven the same in both aspects.
