GUIDELINES FOR DECENTRALIZATION IN SPECIAL FORM OF LOCAL AUTHORITATIVE ORGANIZATION: PHUKET GOVERNOR ELECTION

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to study the readiness of Phuket Province in changing its administration model into a special form of local authoritative organization. There are 15 key informants including provincial and local government administration executives, experts in political science and public administration and community leaders using data collected from focus group meetings and analyze the data using content analysis.

The findings reveal that Phuket is ready to change its administration model into a special form of local authoritative organization at a high level in terms of the Special characteristics of the area, Income of the area, Strength of management of local authoritative organizations and Special characteristics of public services.
