THE EFFECT OF “GRABBING RED ENVELOPE “ON INCENTIVE MANAGEMENT: A PERSPECTIVE OF GROUNDED THEORY

Abstract
This study summarized the behavior of grabbing red envelopes on the internet, and pointed
out that the effect of grabbing red envelopes is the phenomenon of smaller cost to obtain larger
incentive. Through analysis the effect of grabbing red envelopes internal incentive mechanism,
we hope to motivate management to provide reference for the enterprise. We use grounded theory
to code, analysis for the red envelope effect, finally we focus on four core concepts: the competition,
uncertainty, vision, and valence. What’s more, the valence includes benefit and cost. This study points
out that the individual in the evaluation of benefit and cost, then through the competition, uncertainty
and vision to realize the view of incentive.
