Guidelines to Develop Entrepreneurship in Wickwork Folk Business for High School Students in Si Maha Phot District, Prachin Buri Province

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to study the wickerwork local business entrepreneurs’ business knowledge and qualification, 2) to suggest the development guidelines in wickerwork local business entrepreneurship, and 3) to propose instructional activities for the wickerwork local business entrepreneurship. The samples include three wickerwork local entrepreneurs, six Si Maha Phot School students, three teachers in department of Occupations and Technology, a Si Maha Phot School administrator and a community leader. The research instrument was an interview questionnaire and a focus group interview. The results showed that the wickerwork local entrepreneurs had the knowledge in various styles and the learning styles consisted of observing, asking the experienced, conducting trials, practicing, and networking. The required qualification of wickerwork entrepreneur included tolerance, effort, curiosity, trustworthiness, creativity, belief, and attitude. The results were used to make development guidelines in wickerwork local business entrepreneurship and nine instructional activities, well-aligned with the Basic Core Curriculum B.E.2551, were proposed in the student development course – The Wickerwork Club.
