Abstract

The purposes of this researchwere to 1)determine the effectiveness of the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) according to Self-Holistic Knowledge Skill in the Visual Elements and Composition forMathayomsuksa1, 2) compare the students’ learning achievement before and after studying with CAI, and 3) to determine the level of satisfaction of the Mathayomsuksa1 on learning with CAI. The samplesof this study were 30 Mathayomsuksa students studying at SaraburiWittayakhom School, AmporMuang, Saraburi Province in the academic year 2016. The research instruments werelessons of CAI according to Self-Holistic Knowledge Skill in the Visual Elements and Composition, pretest and posttest of the students’ learning achievement before and after learning with CAI, and a questionnaire to evaluate student satisfaction towards the teaching of CAI with simulation. The statistical devices used in the study were percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test for dependent samples. The results showed that the effectiveness of teaching with CAI according to Self-Holistic Knowledge Skill in the Visual Elements and Composition had the efficiency of 80.67/80.11 which met the standard criteria. The scores of the posttest with an average of 24.03 and the S.D. of 1.27 were higher than those of the pretest with an average of 12.13 and the S.D. of 1.76. The t-test between the pretest and posttest scores was 30.47 which was significantly different at the 0.05 level. The student satisfaction towards learning by using CAI was at a high level with an average of 3.91.
