Abstract

This independent study aimed to study the factors related to the success of Thai traditional medicine business establishments in Pathum Thani province. The research samples were 130 Thai traditional medicine business establishments in Pathum Thani province. The research instrument used for collecting data was questionnaires. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, independent sample t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient. The study revealed that most Thai traditional medicine business establishments had been founded for more than 5 years. They hire around 11-15 part-time and full-time employees. Most of them have invested between 500,000-1,000,000 baht in their business. 47 of them were registered as limited partnerships. While 75 of them provided only Thai massage service, most customers of 54 establishments were in a membership group. According to the continuous personnel development in the establishment, the employees in 109 establishments had been trained the past year. The overall service quality of the establishments was at the good level with the mean score of 3.84, and the average score of tangibles was at the highest level with the mean score of 3.98. Moreover, the success of Thai traditional medicine business establishments as a whole was at the high level with the mean score of 4.09, and their economic success was at the high level with the highest mean score of 4.26. The number of employees was the factor that related to the success of Thai traditional medicine business establishments in Pathum Thani province at the most significant level of .05. In addition, trustworthiness which was a part of the service quality was related to the success in the same direction at the low level.
