Development of Quality of Life of the Elderly of the Local Administrative Organizations in Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

The purposes of this  research were (1) To study the development of quality of life of the elderly (2) To study the quality of life of the elderly in Nakhon Pathom Province (3) To study the relationship between the development of the quality of  life of  the elderly and the quality of  life, and (4) To propose the guidelines for the development on the quality of life of the elderly. The researcher used both quantitative research method and qualitative research method. The sample of this research was 400 elder people. The tools used for data collection were questionnaires. The key informants a total of 21 administrators were interviewed by using the structured in-depth interviews. The results of the research showed that. The development of quality of life of the elderly in overall was at a high level. The quality of life of the elderly in overall was at a moderate level. The development of quality of life of the elderly of the local administrative organizations in the aspects of resources availability, cooperation and support from the relevant agencies, social environment, and clarity in goal and objective and objectives of the policy were counted and predicted the quality of life of the elderly at 69.2 percent. The guidelines for the development on the quality of life of the elderly were (1) Driving the operation of the health promotion system for the long-term care (2) Establish the elderly school (3) Establish the elderly fund,  and (4) Assign the internal unit of the local administrative organization to take care of the work.
