Abstract

The objective of this article is to study the efficiency of aircraft maintenance influencing by human factors of low-cost airlines in Thailand. It is qualitative research by using three research methodologies, which are document analysis, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation. In the last couple of decades, the aviation industry, including aircraft maintenance, has undergone both architectural and conceptual improvement, which yields higher value in the said industry to be made efficiently functional and worthiness. Human factors are parts of the contribution of such incidents as a means to foreseeable damages. The result found that the significance of improvement in aircraft maintenance is mentioned focusing on the 12 human factors as follows 1) lack of communication 2) Complacency 3) lack of knowledge 4) distraction 5) lack of teamwork 6) fatigue 7) lack of resources 8) pressure 9) lack of assertiveness 10) stress 11) lack of awareness 12) norms. The study has also found that miscommunication, recklessness, and unskillful employees are the three main contributors that affect the efficiency of aircraft maintenance.
