Abstract

        This study aims to biographies studies and the works of Professor Dr. Ouay Ketusingh, M.D., F.R.eP., F.RI. This was a qualitative study. The research results consist of two parts as follows: 1) Biographies: he was born in Bangkok on September 3, 1908, His highest level of education was as follows: Doctor of Medicine from School of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Doctor of Chemistry, from University of Hamburg, Federal Republic of Germany. His important government service was as follows: Senior lecturer in 1951, Professor in 1952, Vice President of Medical University in 1965, Director of Sports Science Center in 1968. His academic honor was as follows:  Honorary Doctorate Degree in Medicine and Pharmacy from Mahidol university, Royal College of Applied Sciences, Honorary Doctorate Degree in Science from Kasetsart university, Honorary Doctorate Degree in Education from Chulalongkorn university, and Honorary Doctorate Degree in Sports Science from Srinakharinwirot University. He had received several ranks of insignia such as the highest rank Maha Vajira Mongkut in 1965, Das Grosche Ferdinstkreutz from Federal Republic of Germany in 1970, Insignia of Chulachomklao Chula Chom Klao Wiset Secondary Class in 1973, and the most exalted order of the White Elephant in 1982. 2) His important works such as Applied Thai Ayurvedic works; Ayurveda College was established in December 1982, medicine course of applied Thai traditional medicine was improved in 1998; Ayurveda College was managed by the Siriraj Hospital School of Medicine in 2003; Sports medicine, sports science center was establish in 1966, Chairman of Thailand Sports Medicine Association in 1985, he had been regarded as "Father of Sports Medicine" in 1988.
