Abstract

This paper aimed to study the Bangkok municipal solid waste to applying the Vogel’s approximation method (VAM) technique for solving the complex transportation problem and provided the optimal solution. The qualitative research was used in this study with the case study and operation research approach.First part, study the transportation cost of BMA to provide the present transportation cost. Second part of the study aimed at optimizing the transportation model bythe principal of VAM to cost savings and best solution of transportation model. In this case, BMA does not properly design the waste transport process. Therefore, transport costs are expensive. The VAM's calculation was used in this study to solving the transportation problems that are not clearly designed. The result indicated that VAM calculation that proved the VAM technique can provide an optimal solution for transportation model and solve the complex transportation problem.
