Article Guidelines for the Development of Academic Administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in English of a private university in Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the academic administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in English of a private university in Pathum Thani Province and present development Guidelines for the academic administration of the Bachelor of Arts Program in English of a private university in Pathum Thani Province. This study is qualitative research. The main informants were experts and 5 specialists in academic administration at the university level using semi-structured interviews, conducting a content analysis, and presenting the data by the descriptive method.

            The results showed that the strength of academic administration is that the university can ask for cooperation from various agencies easily. An important weakness in the organization is the lack of research funding sources. The main obstacle to academic administration is the lack of long-term strategic planning. Opportunities to develop academic administration to be more efficient include the use of technology to assist in development planning by inserting the use of modern technology into the curriculum and cooperating with various agencies, both within the organization and outside the organization. For the development of academic administration, there are 1) Proactive approaches should be a network of academic cooperation both domestically and internationally to add up-to-date knowledge 2) Corrective approaches should be conducted to improve the quality of education or the university's academic management 3) Preventive approaches should be encouraged innovative media as an online system, including plan long-term strategic 4) Defensive Approaches should be training on the use of digital technology and new educational innovations for personnel regularly and supposed to promote the creation of academic knowledge for the communities.
