The Moderating Effects of Organizational Culture on the Performance in the Silk Enterprises in the Northeastern Region of Thailand

Abstract

The study aimed to answer the research questions: 1) whether influence of moderators in the knowledge sharing transfer in correlation with the firm performance would be changeable followed by the strength of the organizational culture or not; and 2) when the creative thinking is considered to be a moderate factor in the knowledge sharing transfer in correlation with the firm performance and influence of indirect pathway would be changeable followed by the strength of the organizational culture or not. This study was mixed method study between quantitative research and qualitative research. For a quantitative research, 106 entrepreneurs of the north-eastern regions of Thailand were explored. Statistics used in this research was frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, coefficient of variance, and path analysis by using Process program. For the qualitative analysis, the in-depth semi-structured interview was implemented with 10 entrepreneurs or experts in the north-eastern regions of Thailand. Results in the showed that: 1) the direct influence as a moderator factor in the knowledge sharing transfer in correlation with firm performance path toward the organizational culture would be increasing when the organizational culture strengthened; and 2) even though the organizational culture strengthened, the indirect influence as a moderator in knowledge sharing transfer exhibited correlation with firm performance and between creative thinking and firm performance toward organizational culture would be increasing, but not at a high level.
