The Causal Model of Alcohol Drinking Behaviors of Students in Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

     This research aims to analyze the causal model of alcohol drinking behaviors of student in Nonthaburi province. This research was the survey research and collected data by questionnaires from 252 respondents who senior high school students in Nonthaburi province on 2565 academic year. The research sampling was purposive sampling. The index of item-objective congruence (IOC) was 0.746 and reliability value of 0.927. The hypothesis testing used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) found that the model was congruent with the empirical data (c2= 99.28, df = 94, c2/df = 1.056, P-value = 0.082, RMR = 0.022, RMSEA = 0.048, GFI = 0.906, AGFI = 0.944 และ CFI = 0.985) and the results indicated that the social environment factor, self-control factors and subjective norm factors could be predicted alcohol drinking behaviors of student in Nonthaburi province on 79 percentage. And the social environment factor and self-control factors had the positive relation and direct influence on the alcohol drinking behavior of student in Nonthaburi province with effect size of 0.29 and 0.89. The social environment factor had the positive relation and direct influence pass the subjective norm factor and self-control factors to alcohol drinking behavior of student in Nonthaburi province with effect size of 0.67 and 0.54 and the subjective norm factor had the positive relation and direct influence pass the self-control factor to alcohol drinking behavior of student in Nonthaburi province at 0.69 of effect size. It can be concluded that these independent variables could explain the alcohol drinking behavior of students in Nonthaburi province.
