The Design Guidelines for çLiving Libraryé: The Case Study of Library and Resource Center, Khon Kaen University.

Library as a learning resource center in the higher education play very significant role in an institute in many aspects which are to support study courses by research activities, conducting advanced research, and as a meeting venue for social idea exchange activities for creating learning process between universityûs community and external communities. The concept of living library has been often used as a key strategy for creating interesting environment for libraries in the higher education.

This article presents the key concept of living library in the higher education and design criteria to improve existing libraryûs physical environment to a vivid delighting place. The context of this article was resulted from the authorûs experience of architectural design practice of living library for The Library and Learning Resource Center, Khon Kaen University from 2006 to 2008.
