Political Participation of People in Nakhon Surat Thani Municipality

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis paper were as follows :- 1) To study the political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality. 2) To compare the political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality in terms of sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupations, and monthly incomes as differently. 3) To study the suggestion on problems and resolutions the political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality. The population were composed of people who live in the area of Nakhon Surat Thani municipality, there are about 121,718 persons, sample size by Krejcie and Morgan’s table measurement at the error not more then .05, the samples were about 384 persons, the instrument for data collection was questionnaire at the reliability at 0.878, data analysis by package computer program. The statistics were applied as follows; frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA or F-test and to test the difference of arithmetic mean in each pair by LSD method, (Least Significant Difference).
The findings were as followings : 1) The political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality found that by overview in four aspects were at more level when considered in each aspect found that the aspect of political association was the highest mean and followed up the aspect of election process and the aspect of political knowledge campaign was the lowest mean respectively, classified in terms of sexes by overview was at more level, in terms of ages by overview more 51 were at moderate level but in terms of 18-30 years, 31-40 years and 41-50 years were at more level, in terms of degrees of education by overview primary and high school or equal were at moderate level, but pre. B.A. or equal and B.A. or upper were at more level, in terms of occupations by overview agriculture/worker were at moderate level but others were at more level and in terms of monthly incomes 8,000-10,000 Baths were at moderate level and others were at more level.
2) The comparative results on political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality in terms of sexes, degrees of education, and monthly incomes found that there were different as statistically significance at .01, in terms of occupations found that there were different as statistically significance at .05, but in terms of ages found that there were not different as statistically significance at .05 3) The suggestion on problems and resolutions on political participation of people in Mueang Surat Thani municipality political participation of people in Nakhon Surat Thani municipality were not take care of people, to be selfish than others the result, too long political strike. The resolution found that the highest frequency was the aspect of political association i.e. they should take care of people and to be work for others than themselves.
