Strategies for improving the quality of working life of security companies in Pathum Thani province

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the level of quality of work life, 2) study the problem conditions of the quality of work life, 3) create a strategy to develop the quality of work life and 4) assess the strategy for the development of quality of work life of security guards in Pathum Thani province. This research were applied research and development concept with the mixed method both from quantitative and qualitative. For the quantitative data, the samples consisted of 370 people using accidental sampling method. The data were collected by questionnaire and assessment forms, and data analysis was conducted by computer software program. Percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to describe the data. For the qualitative data, 39 key informants were selected and collected through in-depth interview and brainstorming. The data were analyzed by using content analysis.
The results showed that: 1) The quality of work life of the security guards was overall at high level and the mean was at moderate level. Each aspect was found at medium level in terms of working conditions with regard to safety and health promotion, 2) The problems of the quality of work life consisted of (1) enough and fair compensation; (2) safe and healthy working conditions; (3) success and security in their career path; (4) opportunity to develop their capabilities; (5) ability to combine the society and working together; (6) democracy in the organization; (7) work life balance; (8) job characteristics that were beneficial to the society, 3) The strategies to develop the quality of work life and visions was as follows; fair compensation, life insurance and maintain mutual happiness. There were 7 sub-strategies, 7 missions and 7 objectives which were interrelated. 4) Evaluation of the strategies to develop the quality of work life of security guards in Pathum Thani province was found that, in general, the assessment of plans and projects were in good standards in all 7 aspects.
