Community Potential Assessment for Education and Community Tourism Management : Ban Dan Noen Sung, Mueang District, Trat Province

Abstract

This article aims to assess community potential for education and tourism management with Ban Dan Noen Sung, Muang District, Trat Province as a study area. This study was a documentary study, interviews, group discussions and going to the field for research in participatory observation.

The result of the study shows that the community has significant potential, contains the potential of strength and unity in the community participation in terms of abundant natural forest resources to support tourism, outstanding social and cultural capital of the community network management funding for both tourism networks and community product manufacturers network and support for regional academic partners to develop on the content and needs of the community through managing the knowledge of all parties, providing information that's realistic and context - based. This is the heart of education and sustainable development that will be passed on to the community and every sector that has learnt through various actions resulting into the community having the potential to develop into an area for education and community tourism management.
