Role of Phrakhru Pariyadwisuttivong according to the Moral Buddhist Way Community Building in Surin Province

Abstract

Buddhist monks play an important role in instilling moral ethics in the community. They are crucial pillars of helping Thai communities and society be mentally prosperous and living together in peace. The concept of building a virtuous community modeling the Buddhist way is a way of managing communities based on Buddhist principles as a process for integration in each area and for guiding the community practice to be suitable for controlling the Buddhist way in the community. There is a good, self-sufficient, and sustainable self-sufficiency. On this connection, in Surin province, Phrakhru Pariyadwisuttivong played an essential role in creating a Buddhist virtue community in three memorable roles, namely: 1) spiritual development role: cooperation with public and private agencies, moral and ethical training, and instilling Thai values for youth and citizens, 2) educational role: continuous moral ethics training for youth and citizens, and 3) community development leadership Role: Moral Development Programs were organized for youths and Buddhists throughout the year. His works were represented by the honors of the organizations that have been given. Therefore, Phrakhru Pariyadwisuttivong played an essential role in building a prototype virtue community in Surin province, and improving the quality of life of the people to a certain extent, and for people to adopt important ideas good examples as models for living and to further develop society and the nation. Therefore, in this article, it aims to propose three points: 1) to study the role of monks and community development, 2) to study the concept of building a virtue community model of the Buddhist way, and 3) to study the history and work of that Phrakhru Pariyadwisuttivong in the field of building a Buddhist virtue community. The documentaries and indebt interviews were used—presentation with descriptive-analytical methods.
