The study on “Re-offending factors of Nong Khai Provincial Prison Inmates” aims to study the re-offending factors of inmates in Nong Khai Provincial Prison and to propose ways to develop inmates obtained from research for use in the organization. The demographics used in this research are those who have committed two or more re-offences in Nong Khai Provincial Prison. During 2021, the samples selected by the researchers in this research were representatives of male inmates who had committed two or more re-offences and were held in Nong Khai Provincial Prison. During 2021, using the calculated method, Taro Yamane collected a sample of 195 people. Statistics used in the analysis include: Determining the percentage, average, and standard deviation, the results of the study can be summarized as follows:
The results showed that the majority of the sample was male under 30 years old, second only to 31-40 years old, graduating from secondary school with a monthly income of about 10,001-15,000 baht. The number of family members is 5-6 and most commit second offenses, according to a study of re-offending factors of family inmates. Overall, the majority of the sample gave an idea of how family relationships would influence a person's offense. Family members' quarrels. There's a regular argument. The economic factor that influences the re-offending of inmates the most is the lack of a stable career. Being poor Uncertain income as environmental factors, It found that the community environment is overcrowded and highly crime-prone, an environmental factor that influences inmates' misconduct the most, and the legal factor that influences the re-offending of inmates the most: having knowledge of the penalties of offenses in various cases and not fearing the law. No humility. As a result, the offense was reinstated.
The recommendation from this study is that the Department of Corrections should modify vocational training to meet the needs of the labor market and to suit the capabilities of each inmate, as well as providing a market to support goods for inmates to develop further their careers. There should be a process for classifying and sorting each type of inmate to help reduce the problem of imitating misconduct between inmates. Clear decisive measures should be taken to treat inmates who frequently re-offend as a deterrent. Fear of re-offending and should develop behavioral rehabilitation programs and correct the habits of inmates to suit each inmate. It should not be the same basic program, for example, inmates who commit crimes should be rehabilitated. Corrects different habits from ordinary inmates. In addition, the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Education should be allowed to provide opportunities for all inmates. Get equal higher education opportunities, free of charge, to allow inmates who want to continue their studies but do not have the funds to receive educational opportunities.
